The Denmark Environment Centre has been one of a number of groups and individuals in the Greens Pool Working Group actively seeking better custodianship of Greens Pool.
Late in 2017 DEC sent nearly one thousand signatures on this petition to the Minister for Fisheries, Dave Kelly, asking for greater protection at Greens Pool. There has also been ongoing work through the Greens Pool Working Group to investigate different options for protection, and some support from State and Local Government for the idea of a snorkel trail.
However, the Minister is also being sent many messages directly from fishers opposing better custodianship of Greens Pool. We are we are seeking to balance this with direct and personal letters or emails to the Minister. While the petition effectively demonstrated broad community concern, individual letters and emails are much more powerful in communicating community sentiment.
So please, help us keep the momentum going, and demonstrate your support to the Minister for effective custodianship of Greens Pool. Addresses (postal and email) for the Fisheries Minister and Environment Minister are in this document, together with some key points that you might like to put into a letter or email.
