Burning Matters

Why changes to prescribed burning are needed

Join us for the third Burning Matters event on Wednesday the 26th of June 2024 at the Denmark Civic Centre at 5.45pm.

In this third event of the series, we will screen short films showing various ecosystems of the Walpole Wilderness Area and the impacts of large-scale prescribed burns. This will be the first release of these films to the public.  We will also hear from two guest speakers, Professor Stephen Hopper (UWA Albany) and Simon Neville (Denmark).

Denmark Environment Centre's Bart Lebbing and Cath Spaggiari will give an overview of the issues around prescribed burning and current campaign activities. This is a free event funded by a grant from the Koorabup Trust, although donations are encouraged.
